Easy Kids Baking Recipes

Are you trying to keep the kiddies busy while at home? Well why not try a few recipes out and test their baking skills. Here are our top easy kids recipes for them to have a go at and get stuck into!

Flapjacks

Flapjacks

Serves: 16          Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 120g of porridge oats
  • 60g of softened butter
  • 60g of light brown sugar
  • 1-2 tbsp of golden syrup

Method:

  1. Heat the oven to 200c.
  2. Then mix all the ingredients together well in a large bowl.
  3. Then grease the baking tin, and pour the mixture in, making sure to push everything down with the back of a spoon to make it flat before putting them in the oven.
  4. Then cook for 10 minutes until golden brown.
  5. The mixture will be nice and soft when its taken out the oven and it will harden when it starts to cool.
  6. After its cooled, cut them up and enjoy!
Mars Bar Cake

Mars Bar Cake

Serves: 12         Time: 45 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 100g of softened butter
  • 4 mars bars
  • 1 1/2 tbsp of golden syrup
  • 150g of rice krispies
  • 350g of milk chocolate

Method:

  1. First of all, melt the 3x mars bars, golden syrup and butter all in a large bowl.
  2. Then add the rice krispies to the mixture.
  3. Pour the mixture into a lined baking tray and press down on it firmly.
  4. Then melt the milk chocolate in a seperate bowl and pour it all over the rice krispie mixture.
  5. Then place in the fridge until it sets and enjoy!
Cheesecake

Serves: 8            Time: 1 hour

Ingredients:

  • 250g of digestive biscuits 
  • 100g of melted butter
  • 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 600g of full fat soft cheese
  • 100g of icing sugar
  • 284ml pot of double cream

Method:

  1. Firstly, crush the digestives in a food bag until they are crumbs.
  2. Then, mix the melted butter in with the digestives and press firmly into a greased cake tin. Chill in the fridge for an hour.
  3. Then mix the cheese, vanilla and icing sugar until smooth and then spoon the mixture over the biscuit base.
  4. Then leave it to set in the fridge overnight.

Serves: 8            Time: 1 hour

Ingredients:

Serves: 10/12           Time: 35 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 200g of caster sugar
  • 115g of melted butter
  • 30g of cocoa powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 115g of plain flour 
  • A pinch of baking powder
  • A pinch of salt

Method:

  1. Heat the oven to 180c.
  2. Then mix the ingredients in the order above.
  3. Pour the mixture into a greased brownie tin.
  4. Then cook them for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Then allow them to cool in the tin befire slicing and serving.
Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Serves: 12             Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 115g of softened butter
  • 55g of caster sugar
  • 140g of plain flour
  • 40g of chocolate chips

Method:

  1. Firstly, heat the oven to 180c.
  2. Then beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the flour and chocolate chipswith your hand until you have a dough.
  4. Then roll the dough into a walnut sized ball and flatten the with the palm of your hand.
  5. Then put them onto a baking tray and into the oven for 10-12 minutes.
  6. Once baked, take them out and place on a cooling rack.
