About: This stunning area is located in the well-known Barry Island and boasts a tranquil 200 acres of woodland and meadows which lead down to a big pebble beach beneath the spectacular cliffs. They’ve got a purpose-built BBQ area, or you could find your own spot at the water’s edge. There is nothing better than sitting on the beach watching the sun go down, with the smell of sausages and burgers on your barbies!

About: This dune backed, sandy beach is plenty big enough for all your beach activities and at low tide, you can wade across the river to Newport Parrog. It’s very popular with all kinds of watersports enthusiasts as well as having the ability to drive onto the Newport Sands beach, which makes a fantastic spot for barbecuing. A good tip to follow, if you're looking for delicious, fresh produce for the barbie, the butcher and fishmonger in Newport are both amazing!

About: This much loved beach, attracts many visitors every year. It is often referred to as Southerndown beach taking its name from the nearby village. Sand, clifftop walks, big pebbles, rockpools for dabbling in, this is just thr perfect place to sit back, relax and enjoy a BBQ or picnic with the family. And if you're a lover of a good walk after food, you're in luck as the beach is right on the Wales Coast Path.

About: Three Cliffs is Gower’s prettiest beach, however it’s a hefty walk if you're carrying BBQ stuff. The neighbouring Oxwich is lovely and has a car park, which makes life much easier when unloading beach and BBQ bits. For the best experience, you can stock up on meat and fish at Swansea’s covered market, the largest in Wales, and enjoy some of the delicious local delicacy on your barbies!
