Radyr Trail Races offers a half marathon and marathon from Cardiff, taking runners onto scenic trails with climbs, woodland and mountain views as part of the Radyr and Morganstown Festival.
Radyr Trail Races: Half Marathon and Marathon takes place on Saturday 9 May 2026, starting from Cardiff Harlequins RFC in Cardiff. The event begins in the capital but quickly moves onto quieter countryside trails and scenic routes. Races and start times: - Marathon (26.2 miles trail running): 08:00 (age 18+), entry £50 - Half Marathon (13.1 miles trail running): 09:00 (age 17+), entry £40 The half marathon is designed to suit both newer trail runners and experienced participants, featuring a mix of woodlands, forest tracks and countryside paths, including views from the Garth mountain. The final section finishes in a flat nature reserve with opportunities to spot local wildlife. The event forms part of the Radyr and Morganstown Festival, with proceeds supporting local charities. The route is fully marked with checkpoints, and the terrain is described as challenging but achievable with support. The marathon adds an additional 13.1 miles to the half marathon route and includes approximately 1,300 metres of climb. The marathon route requires self-navigation, with marshals positioned at key junctions. A GPX and map are provided. Venue facilities include changing facilities and showers, plus an event village.
